Marble run
The given design challenge was, to create a toy that is entirely made from sheet material (cardboard or plastic). No other materials were allowed to be used.

I came up with these modular stick-togehter-cards to build a marble track system.

Even the “marble”-ball is made from flat sheets of plastic.
The system uses only 3 different shapes of cards. It is fascinating to see how kids build huge structures and are having fun racing their marbles.

New Branding
Enerswiss is a company, whose objective is the development and implementation of clean energy solutions such as wind generators.

The company asked me to create their CI/CD.

The brand combines the concept of Swissness with a turning wind turbine.

A responsive user interface for me is not just about re-layouting text and pictures, but to adapt the entire user experience to the chosen device:

  • Change of functionality scope according to the environment the device is used (train, home, office)
  • Different devices -> different target groups -> different use cases
  • Different input devices (mouse, touch, keyboard, screenreader…)
  • Connection speeds (wlan, wifi, cellular data)
  • Loss of internet connection
BANKING 2.0
Mobile first
Mobile first is for me more than a trend in UI Design.

It really helps me to focus on simple use-cases, only showing the relevant data and functionality to the user. 
Using the One-screen-one-decision strategy I guide the user on his journey, especially when he has to complete complex tasks. 

It takes more effort to create a focused and simple system, than to just show all the available functionality and data to a user.
RaceTubes

RaceTubes is a concept study for a soap-box car for my 4-year old. 

Having a very low budget for the project I chose a minimalistic design approach using modern standard materials found in every hardware supplies store. 
The car-frame is based on standard drain water pipes which give the car structural stability.

2 Handle levers allow both for steering and breaking at the same time.

In preparation for my around-the-world-trip, I've designed and built the interior of a Toyota Landcruiser HJZ78.

The sturdy interior can withstand shocks, vibration, water and sand. At the same time it uses the limited space efficiently and adapts to different usage situations (cooking, sleeping, resting, traveling)

Inspired by nature I have developed this aggressive snow sledge for kids and teens based on the principle of bending body segments found in shrimps or scorpions.
Thanks to my comprehensive product design education and engineering background I was able to cover most design, engineering and marketing aspects without involving external resources.

The entire process from the initial idea to the mass production ready product took me 3 years.

Long before Facebook and twitter I’ve created a system that could visualize the social connections between people. 

Connector lines between two profile photos would indicate their relationship (friends = blue / lovers = red / siblings = black)

The commercial goal of this project was to animate kids and teenagers to create SMS traffic that would be payed for by sponsors who could in return place commercial messages on the system or conduct surveys on selected target groups.

Gamification is a great way to engage, teach and entertain users on a product or corporate website and to evoke returning visits.
It is not only about games, but also interactive simulators and configurators which engage the user on a deeper level and can communicate product information in more subtle way.

This free-form study is an excercise I did in college to get used to the tools and techniques used later on for doing car body mockups.

The challenge was to create a free-form shape that is fluid in appearance and to do a good paint job on the concave and convex surfaces.

In preparation for the IPO of Crealogix, I was commissioned to create the brand experience for the newly stock listed company.  

Crealogix is the leader in Digital banking and E-Learning software in Switzerland.  
The brand had to reflect the company’s culture and to convey both creativity and logic.

Desktop
The next generation of the Digital Banking will feature new functionality as well as under-the-hood enhancements. 

The dashboard concept I’ve created for GUI2.0 will develop into a portal where banking and non-banking related information are mixed together. Different authentication levels and complete responsiveness are also part of GUI 2.0.
